Prerequisites
You must have admin access in Asanify
Payroll must have been completed for the month you want to view
The employee must be classified as an EMPLOYEE (not a contractor) to access tax calculations
Step 1 - Navigate to the Payslip/Invoice Module
Log in to Asanify as an admin.
There are two ways to access the Payslip/Invoice module:
Option A: From the Dashboard
On your admin Dashboard, click on the Payslip/Invoice option
Option B: From the Navigation Menu
Click on Payslip/Invoice in the left navigation bar
Step 2 - Search and Select an Employee
Once you're in the Payslip/Invoice module, you'll see an employee search field at the top.
In the Search Employee or Contractor field, start typing the employee's name
The system will display matching results with employee names, IDs, and employment status
Click on the employee you want to view from the dropdown list
If the employee is offboarded, you'll see an Offboarded chip next to their name
Note: You can search by employee name, ID, department, or designation.
Step 3 - Select the Payroll Period
After selecting an employee, you'll see a payroll period selection dropdown.
Click on the Select Payroll Period dropdown
Select the month and year for which you want to view the employee's tax calculations
The system will load the employee's payslip for the selected period
Note: Only payroll periods for which payroll has been confirmed will appear in the dropdown.
Step 4 - View Payroll Calculations (Optional)
If you want to see a detailed breakdown of how the employee's salary and taxes were calculated on screen:
Click on the More button (at the top-right of the payslip)
Select View Payroll Calculations from the dropdown menu
This will open a dialog showing you step-by-step calculations including:
Gross salary breakdown
Deductions (PF, ESI, PT)
Tax calculations (with regime details)
Net salary computation
Monthly and Financial Year projections
You can also ask AI-powered questions about the payslip calculations by using the AI assistant on the right side of the screen.
Step 5 - Download Tax Calculations
To download a PDF document of the employee's tax calculations:
Click on the More button (at the top-right of the payslip)
Select Download Tax Calculations from the dropdown menu
The system will generate and download a PDF file named Tax_calculation_[Month]_[Year].pdf to your device. This PDF includes:
Employee's full name, designation, and department
Employee ID and company name
Month and year of the tax calculation
Detailed Tax Calculations: A comprehensive breakdown of all tax computation steps
Projected FY TDS: The employee's estimated Tax Deducted at Source for the entire financial year
Calculated Monthly TDS: The TDS amount for the selected month
Note: The download button will only be enabled after you have selected both an employee and a payroll period.
Additional Information
What if I don't see any payroll periods?
If you don't see any payroll periods in the dropdown for a specific employee, it means payroll has not yet been run for that employee. You'll need to run payroll first before tax calculations can be viewed.
Can I view tax calculations for previous months?
Yes, you can view and download tax calculations for any month for which payroll has been processed. Simply select the desired month from the Select Payroll Period dropdown.
Can I view tax calculations for multiple employees at once?
No, this feature allows you to view and download tax calculations for one employee at a time. You'll need to repeat the process for each employee you want to review.
What's the difference between "View Payroll Calculations" and "Download Tax Calculations"?
View Payroll Calculations: Shows an interactive view of all payroll calculations on screen, including salary components, deductions, and tax computations. This is useful for quick reference and answering employee queries.
Download Tax Calculations: Generates a PDF document specifically focused on tax calculations that you can save, print, or share with the employee. This is useful for record-keeping and providing formal documentation.
Can I email the tax calculations to the employee?
While the current screen allows you to email the payslip using the Email Payslip button, tax calculations are not automatically emailed. However, you can download the tax calculations PDF and email it to the employee manually, or the employee can download their own tax calculations from their employee portal.
Troubleshooting
The Download button is disabled:
Make sure you have selected both an employee and a payroll period from the dropdowns
Verify that payroll has been confirmed (not just processed) for that period
Ensure the selected person is classified as an EMPLOYEE, not a contractor (contractors don't have tax calculations)
Error message when trying to download:
If you see an error, it may mean the tax calculations haven't been generated yet for that employee and period
Try refreshing the page and selecting the employee and period again
