As an admin, how do I check why pay changed before I approve payroll?

While reviewing a payroll run, before you confirm it, you can open the same pay-change breakdown you would see after approval, for any employee whose pay differs from the previous month.

Step 1 - Compare with the previous payroll

On the Review step of Run Payroll, click Compare with previous payroll ({month}). This opens the comparison in a new tab, against the last month Asanify paid for this entity.

Step 2 - Open "Why it changed" for an employee

For any employee whose pay changed between the two months, click Why it changed under their name. It is only offered when both months are Asanify payroll runs, not an uploaded payroll.

Step 3 - Read the draft's pay change

This opens the same pay-change breakdown used after payroll is approved, with the month you are reviewing marked Draft · not approved, in the totals and in the table's column heading. If you recalculate the draft while this screen is still open, it says so and offers Reload rather than mixing the old and new numbers. If the employee has no regular payroll at all for a month, in review or approved, the screen says there is nothing to compare instead.
