Step 1 - Reach the Accrual step of a leave policy
Start or edit a policy as described in how do I create a leave policy in Asanify?, choosing a Leave Type other than Unlimited Leave, Comp-off Leave or Leave Without Pay, and setting a fixed accrual rate on the Basic step. Continue to the Accrual step.
Step 2 - Turn on tenure-based accrual
On the Accrual step, answer Do the accrual rules vary based on employee's experience? by selecting Yes, accrual rules change after certain period. This replaces the single accrual rate with a table where you build one row per tenure phase.
Step 3 - Add an accrual phase
Click Add Accrual Rule. In the drawer that opens:
Under When will this accrual rule be effective from?, enter a number and choose a tenure unit (Day(s), Week(s), Month(s) or Year(s)) counted from Date of Joining (DOJ). Your first phase must start at 0 tenure from DOJ.
Answer What is the total number of leaves per year? and choose how often leave is credited under the accrual frequency question (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly or Annually).
Under Does this accrual rule need an initial adjustment?, choose Give a fixed number of days and enter how many days to credit the moment this phase starts, or choose No initial adjustment needed.
Click Save Accrual Rule.
Step 4 - Add the remaining phases
Repeat Step 3 for each later tenure milestone. Your earliest phase must start at 0 tenure from DOJ — Asanify blocks saving otherwise — and you cannot add two phases that start at the same tenure offset. Each phase you add stays open until the next one's start, so double-check the offsets you enter; Asanify does not warn you about a gap between two phases further down the list. The last phase you add is open-ended and applies for the rest of the employee's tenure.
Step 5 - Edit or remove a phase
In the accrual rules table, use the pencil icon to reopen a phase in the same drawer, or the trash icon to delete it after confirming. If you switch Do the accrual rules vary based on employee's experience? back to No, rules are constant throughout after adding phases, Asanify warns you that this clears every phase you have entered — confirm only if you mean to start over.
Step 6 - Continue
Once every phase you need is listed in the table, use Preview Accrual Dates to check the ramp against a real employee, then continue to Set Reset Rules to finish configuring the policy.
