As an admin, how do I see how a payslip line was worked out, across two months?

On the pay-change screen for an employee, you can click any line in the payslip table to see exactly how Asanify worked it out for each of the two months, step by step.

You reach this screen from a payslip's Why pay changed option, or from the comparison screen for the payroll you are reviewing. Every amount on it shows the payroll's currency with two decimals and the sign in front, for example +₹1,200.00 or −₹2,896.00.

Step 1 - Select a line in the payslip table

The Payslip with Working table lists every line on the payslip, with the amount for each month and the Change between them. Some rows show a short reason underneath explaining what moved. Click any row to select it; some rows also show a small text under the amount when the check run for a month could not confirm that line. To save the table itself, click Download table above it.

Step 2 - Read the line's working

Selecting a row opens its working on the right, titled How {line} was worked out. It lists the calculation step by step, with the value for each month side by side. Each step's inputs show where the number comes from: a fixed amount, another payslip line, a rule in Formula Studio, or an amount an admin entered for that payroll. Where an input is itself a payslip line, click it to jump straight to that line's own working. If a step is a plain payroll engine calculation rather than a formula, the panel says so instead of showing a formula.

Step 3 - Read the income tax computation

Select the Income Tax line to see its working on the right as usual, plus one more thing: if Asanify can read the full tax computation for both months, a table titled Income tax computation appears below the payslip table and panel. It follows the same row order and numbering as the tax calculation PDF, with a column for each month and a Change column, and only shows the rows that changed by default. Click Show all rows to see every row instead. If the employee had no taxable pay in a month, that column says so instead of a computation.

For an older payroll where only the tax calculation PDF exists, this table does not appear. The panel on the right instead points you to the two Download buttons for the PDF, one per month.
