Step 1: Go to the salary tab of the employee to who you wish to give an advance.
Go to the People tab in the left navigation bar -> Search for the employee to whom you wish to give a salary advance by typing their name in the search box.
Click on the name of the employee to view the employee's profile.
Click on the Salary tab of the employee -> Click on the Give Salary Advance button.
Step 2: Enter the details for the salary advance.
For the Advanced on option, you may select the date on which you wish to give the advance to your employee. You may change the date by clicking on it and selecting the date from the calendar. The default selection is the current date.
For the Amount option, you may enter the amount you wish to give as a salary advance to the employee -> Click on the Give Advance button.
Please note that there are 2 circumstances when a salary advance would not be possible.
If the advance amount exceeds the Net Salary of the employee for that month, then you would receive an error message. The error message will mention the amount which you may give as an advance based on the projected Net Salary of the employee for that month.
If you have already run payroll for the month for which you are now attempting to give a salary advance, you will receive an error message. The error message will mention that Payroll has already been run and you need to delete the payroll that you have run for the month for which you wish to give an advance.
After you click on the Give Advance button and your advance is successfully created, you will view the confirmation message as shown below.
If you wish to view the advances you have given to your employees you may go to the Payroll tab in the left navigation bar -> Click on Advances. You may view the employees to whom you have given salary advances here.
