As an admin, how can I compare my current payroll with a previous payroll?

In this article we will go through the steps on how an admin may compare payrolls to verify the payroll data

You may easily get a clear view of how your payroll amount has changed by using our compare payroll feature.

Here is a step-by-step guide.

Step 1: Run Payroll.

Step 2: Compare with the Previous Payroll.

Step 1: Run Payroll.

  • Click on the Payroll tab from the left navigation bar -> Click on the Run payroll option.

  • Choose the month for which you want to run payroll -> Click on the Run button.

  • Click on the Process Inputs and Review button.

Step 2: Compare with the Previous Payroll.

  • Click on 'Compare with previous payroll'

  • A new tab will open up with the comparison details.

  • In the top right corner, you can see the months for which payroll is being compared.

  • Let us take the example of the HRA column for Saurav Ganguly. As you can see the values are different. 27,900 is the amount of HRA Saurav Ganguly received for the month of November and he received 25,000 for the month of October. This shows an increase of 2,900. However, for Sachin Tendulkar, the HRA amount has stayed consistent. This is depicted by the green tick mark that symbolizes that the values are the same for the previous and current payrolls.

  • You may use the scrollbar to scroll to the right to view a comparison of all the salary components.

  • In the event that there are missing values, you will be able to see what values are missing.
