Before you start: an admin needs to have set up your company's level scale once. If you open Job Levels and see a setup screen instead of lanes of designations, the scale hasn't been configured yet — ask an admin who has done that first.
Step 1 - Open the Level Board
In the left navigation, click Company, then select Job Levels.

Each lane is one level, with the highest level on top. Designation cards sit in the lane matching their current level. Designations with no level yet sit in the Unlevelled tray at the bottom. A banner above the board tells you how many designations are unlevelled, or confirms that all designations are levelled.
Step 2 - Move one designation to a level
Click a designation card to pick it up. A bar appears saying "Moving [designation]. Click a lane to place it." Click the lane for the level you want to assign, or click the Unlevelled tray to clear its level.

You can also drag a card directly into a lane, or click the ⋮ button on a card to open a menu listing every level plus a Clear (unlevelled) option.
Step 3 - Move several designations at once
In the Unlevelled tray, use Search designations to find the ones you want, then tick the checkbox on each card, or click Select all to tick every card currently shown. A bar appears showing how many are selected and a button for each level. Click the level you want to assign them all to.

Step 4 - Save and confirm
Moves aren't saved as you make them. Once you're done moving cards, click Save changes. If you want to discard your moves instead, click Reset.
Saving opens a Confirm level changes dialog listing how many designations are changing level and how many employees are affected, with a per-designation breakdown of affected employees. If nobody currently holds the designations you're moving, it shows "No employees are affected by these changes" instead of a list — that's expected, not an error.

Click Apply changes to save, or Cancel to back out without saving anything. A change applies immediately and retroactively: every employee holding that designation inherits the new level right away, with no history kept of the previous value.
Only Admins can move cards or save changes here. Other roles see the same lanes but read-only, with no controls to move or save.
