Step 1 – Navigate to the Org Chart
From the Dashboard, click on People in the left navigation bar.
From the dropdown, select Org Chart.
You will land on the Reporting View by default, which shows your full company hierarchy as a manager-to-report tree.
Note: The Org Chart is accessible to all authenticated users. However, the Level View and Matrix Overlay features described below require admin access to display company-wide data.
Step 2 – Explore the Reporting View
The Reporting View displays your organisation as an interactive tree starting from the company root, with each employee node showing their name, employee ID, designation, and department.
You can interact with the chart using the floating controls on the right side of the screen:
Fit to Screen – Resets the zoom and pan to show the full org chart
Focus on Your Profile – Centres the chart on your own employee node
Expand All – Expands all collapsed branches to show the full hierarchy
Collapse All – Collapses all branches to show only the top level
Export – Download the chart as:

Current view SVG
Full org chart PNG (entire hierarchy, not just the visible area)
Note: The hierarchy is built from the Reporting Manager assigned to each employee. If an employee has no manager assigned, or their manager is not found, they report directly to the company root. To update reporting lines, edit the employee's profile in the People module.
Step 3 – Switch to the Level View
The Level View displays the same reporting relationships but organises employees into horizontal bands based on their job level, with higher seniority levels shown at the top.
To switch views:
Click the Level toggle at the top of the Org Chart page (next to the Reporting toggle).
What you will see in the Level View:
Employees are grouped into bands by their assigned job level (inherited from their designation)
Reporting lines (solid edges) are still shown between managers and their reports
Seniority inversions — cases where a report has a higher job level than their manager — are highlighted in red so you can identify structural misalignments
Employees without a job level assigned are placed in an Unlevelled band at the bottom (collapsed by default)
Level View controls:
Show/Hide Unlevelled – Toggle the unlevelled band on or off
Fit – Reset the pan and zoom to the default view
Drag to pan, scroll to zoom
Note: If job levels have not been configured for your organisation yet, you will see an empty state with a prompt to open the Level Board. You can set up job levels under Company → Settings → Job Levels.
Step 4 – Apply the Matrix Reporting Overlay (Admin Only)
The Matrix Overlay lets you visualise secondary or functional reporting lines on top of the standard hierarchy — useful for organisations with matrix structures (e.g., an employee has a solid-line manager and a dotted-line functional lead).
This feature is only available to admins in the Level View and requires a PERSON-type custom field to be configured for employees (e.g., a "Functional Lead" field that stores another employee's ID).
To use the matrix overlay:
Switch to the Level View (Step 3).
In the Layer matrix reporting from… dropdown (top of the page), select the custom field you want to use as the matrix reporting dimension.
Dotted lines will be drawn between employees based on the values in that custom field.
Select None from the dropdown to remove the overlay.
Note: Your matrix overlay selection is saved automatically per user per company, so it will persist when you return to the Org Chart.

Prerequisites
Employees must have a Reporting Manager assigned to appear correctly in the hierarchy. Unlinked employees will roll up to the company root.
The Level View requires job levels to be configured and assigned to designations. See your admin guide on configuring job levels for setup instructions.
The Matrix Overlay requires at least one PERSON-type custom field to be set up for employees.
Troubleshooting
