Step 1 - Open Approvals
Go to Company, then Settings, and select the Approvals tab. You'll see every approval workflow grouped by request type, for example Leave Request or Expense Request.
Step 2 - Open the workflow
Click the name of the workflow you want to deactivate or reactivate. This opens its details page.
Step 3 - Deactivate the workflow
On the details page, click Deactivate next to Edit. A confirmation explains that requests already in progress will finish on this workflow, but new requests will no longer use it. Click Deactivate again to confirm.
Once deactivated, the workflow shows an Inactive badge in its header, and the Deactivate button is replaced with Reactivate. On the Approvals list, the workflow moves into a collapsed Inactive group at the bottom of its request type's section.
The workflow marked Default for a request type can't be deactivated. Its Basic card shows "The default workflow cannot be deactivated" instead of the Deactivate button.
Step 4 - Reactivate a workflow
To bring back an inactive workflow, open it from the Inactive group on the list, or from its details page, and click Reactivate. Confirm in the dialog that appears. New requests matching this workflow's rule will use it again.
Step 5 - Check which workflow a request will use
On the Approvals list, click Check routing at the top of a request type's section.
Step 6 - Fill in the request details
In the panel that opens, search for and select an Employee. For a leave request, you can optionally add the number of Leave days and pick a Leave policy; for an expense or reimbursement request, you can optionally add a Claimed amount. This is a preview only — it never creates a real request.
Step 7 - Run the check
Click Check routing. Asanify shows which workflow the request would use at the top, then lists every active workflow for that request type in the order it's evaluated, each marked Matched, Not matched, or Error. If none of them match, you'll see "No active workflow matched this request" instead of a winner. Click a workflow's name in the list to open its details page. To try a different employee or request, click Ask another.
Check routing only appears when a request type has at least one active workflow.
