In this article, we will go through the steps on how to get started with Performance Management on Asanify.
Here is a step-by-step guide.
Step 1: Add employees.
Step 2: Update managers for your employees.
Step 3: Create a Goal.
Step 1: Add employees.
Adding employees is a major step toward setting up the performance management module so that you may prevent churn and improve your employees' performance with ease.
You may add employees in 2 ways.
Method 1: Add a single employee at a time.
Method 2: Add multiple employees at a time.
Method 1: Add a single employee at a time.
Click on the People tab in the left navigation bar -> Click on the Add Employee button towards the right side of the screen.
A pop-up will appear -> Select the Add a single employee option -> Click on the Continue button.
Add the basic details of the employee such as their name, email, date of joining etc.
You may review a summary of the information after you have filled it in.
You will notice that there is a Give Portal Access toggle button present at the bottom of the screen.
You may use the button to display Yes if you want the employee to immediately get Asanify login credentials. You may use the button to display No if you do not want the employee to get Asanify login credentials immediately. You may give Give Portal Access to the employee later as well by following the Steps to give an employee portal access.
Click on the Submit button.
After you click on Submit you may add the employee's salary information and payment information.
If you do not wish to add the salary and payment information at the moment you may choose the Save and Finish later button which is present at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Method 2: Add multiple employees at a time.
Click on the People tab in the left navigation bar -> Click on Add Employee button towards the right side of the screen.
A pop-up will appear -> Select the Add multiple employees option -> Click on the Continue button.
Ensure that the Import type dropdown has the Employee Core option selected.
You may use the Give Portal Access toggle button to display Yes if you want the employee to immediately get Asanify login credentials. You may use the button to display No if you do not want the employee to get Asanify login credentials immediately. You may give give portal access to the employee later as well by following the Steps to give an employee portal access.
If you do not have the template that is described in the note, you can download the template and upload the Employee Information on the template file.
After you have your information ready -> Click on the Start Upload button.
You may upload the data from any file on your device or you may manually enter the data in the excel like table provided (as shown in the image below).

If you are entering the information manually, you may use the toggle buttons at the top to display rows with problems or to show modifications.
After you have entered the required information click on the Continue button at the bottom of the screen.
Click on Yes.
Click on OK.
You can either add more files or go back to the People tab.
Step 2: Update managers for your employees.
Once you update managers, you may create review cycles and ensure that downward and upward feedback is successfully carried out.
Click on the People tab in the left navigation bar -> Select the checkbox for all the employees whose managers you want to update.
Click the Bulk Edit Employees button.
Select the manager field by clicking on it.
After you select it, it will appear in the right column -> Click on the Edit 3 fields button. Please note that Employee ID and Full Name will be shown anyway and that is the reason for Edit '3' fields being displayed.
You may enter the name of the manager in the Manager column -> Click on Continue.
Click on Yes.
Step 3: Create a Goal.
Creating a goal will help you measure it over time and improve your employees' performance.
Go to the Goals and OKRs tab in the left navigation bar -> Click on the Create a new Goal button.
You may fill in the Objective of the Goal by typing it in -> You may add a Description of your goal -> Choose the goal Owner from the dropdown. You may choose anyone in your company, including yourself as the Goal owner.
Choose the timeline for the goal by choosing the Goal Start Date and the Goal End Date.
The Goal Start Date is the date from when you want to start working on the Goal. The Goal End Date is the date by which you wish to achieve the goal.
Select the type of goal from the options available -> Click on the Create a new Goal button.
After you have created a goal, you may add quantitative key results to the goal. You may add as many key results as you require.
Click on the Add a new Key Result button towards the right of the screen.
Type in a quantitative key result that supports your goal along with a description of the key result -> Choose the owner of the Key Result from the dropdown.
Choose the Type of data that the key result will hold from the options provided -> Choose the Start Value and Target Value for your key result.
Click on the Add a new key result button.
Your key result will be added to your goal. After you have added your key result you may update the key result. You may refer to the Steps on how to update a key result by clicking here.
